Swobbee provides battery charging and swapping infrastructure for light electric vehicles — for cities, delivery fleets, and shared mobility operators. Charging outside homes can reduce reliance on residential battery charging.
Swobbee GmbH is a Berlin-based infrastructure company. Founded in 2017 to develop swappable batteries for light electric vehicles, the company changed direction and has operated as Swobbee since 2020, focusing entirely on open battery swap infrastructure. We develop and operate the hardware, software, and field operations behind the network, in Europe and in New York City.
A Swobbee ONE Station is a Swobbee Station configured exclusively for Swobbee One Batteries. The Swobbee One Battery model Swobbee ONE is certified to UL 2271:2023 and CAN/UL 2271:2023. The Swobbee Station is not currently UL certified. Station certification is in progress. Further certification marks: . In Europe, a Swobbee Station can be configured to serve several different battery types at the same site; the number of supported types is . The US swapping network currently uses the Swobbee One Battery exclusively. Stations serve shared mobility operators, delivery fleets, commercial vehicles, and municipal partners.
Active in Germany and New York City. Backed by a European sustainable energy investor, with an electronics manufacturer as strategic partner for US expansion.

Swobbee and SINBON Electronics collaborate on battery swapping infrastructure in New York City. SINBON contributes interconnect technology for battery integration; Swobbee operates deployment and service.
Oonee and Swobbee were jointly awarded USD 3.7 million in federal funding from the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation to deploy micromobility parking and charging networks in Jersey City, NJ and Minneapolis, MN (announced 23 January 2025). The station numbers in that award are commitments, not deployed stations.
